Pharmacy to offer additional COVID-19 testing

| April 23, 2020 11:42 PM

MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake pharmacy offered its first tests for the COVID-19 antibody April 23.

Moses Lake Professional Pharmacy owner Shawn Needham said his pharmacy is partnering with RediMedi Interactive Clinic in East Wenatchee to offer the tests. Amy Wood of RediMedi said results take about a week. The test requires a blood draw, she said.

Needham said the test will show the presence or absence of COVID-19 antibodies. Their presence means a person was exposed to the virus, or may have it now. “It could mean both,” Needham said.

The goal, Wood said, is to determine how many people have been exposed to the virus. RediMedi started testing people in East Wenatchee last week, she said, and had tested about 100 people before coming to Moses Lake.

Needham said his pharmacy will schedule other testing days. People who want more information can call the pharmacy, 509-764-2314.
