Quincy extends renewal date for business licenses

| April 16, 2020 11:56 PM

QUINCY — At the request of the Washington State Department of Revenue Business Licensing Service, Quincy Mayor Paul Worley and the Quincy City Council extended the date for all expiring business licenses to May 31, during a regular, phone-in city council meeting on April 7. They also waived late fees. The extension and late fee waiver was done through a mayoral proclamation and ratification of the proclamation through a resolution passed by the council. In addition, the resolution suspended the collection of delinquent utility accounts through April 30.

The state’s Business Licensing Service asked the city to extend the expiration date for the licenses and waive late fees as a way to help businesses reduce the negative impact of the COVID-19 crisis. The late fee waiver applies to licenses expiring from March 16 to May 31.

The city of Quincy is not requiring businesses to apply for essential business licenses.

Anyone with questions regarding their business license should call Quincy City Hall at 509-787-3523.
