Hallie Jane Mortensen Davidson
September 23, 1931 – April 8, 2020
Hallie Jane Mortensen Davidson left this life to join her heavenly family on April 8, 2020.
On Sept. 23, 1931, in Rexburg, Idaho, this beautiful spirit was born to Warren C. Mortensen and Alta L. Alldredge Mortensen.
Hallie grew up in Salem, Idaho, graduating with honors from Sugar City High School in the spring of 1949. Her childhood, school and teen years were remembered with joy and happiness, hard work and a deep love for family and friends.
On Sept. 23, 1949 Hallie married Faron L Davidson. They made their home in Edgin Bench, Idaho, before moving to Mesa, Washington in 1956. Hallie and family then moved to Moses Lake, Washington, in 1958, where they lived until they moved to Ephrata, Washington, in 1968.
Hallie worked at Columbia Basin Hospital from 1969 until 1988 when she had to retire due to health complications from a stroke. She lived in her home in Ephrata till she moved to Columbia Crest Assisted Living in 2009 after complications from heart surgery and another stroke. She resided at Columbia Crest till her death following a third stroke.
Hallie’s children and grandchildren were her greatest joy and love. She was a devoted mother and grandmother giving unconditional, endless love at any cost.
Writing, drawing and reading were Hallie’s passions. If she had a pen or pencil in hand she would be sketching people, places and things, or she would be writing poetry, limericks, short stories and memories of her family, friends and life. Hallie loved music and would often break into a dance, usually in her kitchen, often grabbing up the nearest small child to dance with when a favorite song would come on the radio. There was always a song for everything in Hallie’s life and she could remember every word and verse.
Hallie lived her entire life as faithful, devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her church sisters and families.
Hallie is survived by her children Susan G. Davidson/Brischle, Lanny L. Davidson, Dorothy Davidson, Lottie K. Davidson, and Warren C. Davidson; her brother Joe/LaRue Mortenson; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She will be missed immensely by all of us.
Hallie is joining her children Gary F. Davidson, Colette Davidson/Gates, Jane Davidson/Bishop and Alta M. Davidson; her siblings Ronald Mortensen, Karla/Nile Wilding, Wana Blanche/Billy Jensen and little sister Myrna Lou Mortensen and her parents Warren and Alta Mortensen. They are welcoming her joyfully with open arms on the other shore.
A memorial and burial at Connell Cemetery, will be a time to be determined later due to the limitations set because of the coronavirus.
