Bevery Water District receives audit finding

| April 8, 2020 5:49 PM

BEVERLY — The Beverly Water District failed to file its financial reports for 2016 and 2017 in a timely manner, according to a report from the Washington Auditor’s Office. In addition, the financial statements for 2016 through 2018 had some inaccuracies and didn’t have all the required information, the audit report said.

District officials lacked the knowledge necessary to file the report accurately or on time, the report said. The 2016 report was filed more than two years late and the 2017 report was about six months late. The audit report acknowledged the district had experienced personnel turnover, and that it had improved its record-keeping since 2018.

In their reply, water district officials said they were aware of the problems and were taking steps to fix them.
