Wenatchee man accused of recording sexual assaults in Chelan, Grant counties

WENATCHEE — A Wenatchee man accused of videotaping sexual assaults on an unconscious victim eight times in Grant and Chelan counties over the course of five months was arrested by Wenatchee police Friday.

Steven Adam Tibbetts, 54, was booked into Chelan County Jail on eight counts of second-degree rape, which allegedly occurred between March and early-August in Wenatchee, Cashmere and Quincy, according to the Wenatchee Police Department.

Tibbetts is accused of assaulting the same victim while they were unconscious in all eight instances. The alleged victim reported the crime shortly after the eighth incident, when she discovered the existence of the videos on Tibbetts’ phone.

Tibbetts admitted to police that he had taken the video, according to the Wenatchee Police Department.
