No injuries in Ephrata drive-by

EPHRATA — A drive-by shooting in Ephrata with no injuries reportedly occurred just after midnight Thursday, according to city officials. Police are asking for assistance in locating the suspect in the case, according to a press release from City Administrator Wes Crago.

Ephrata police responded to a report of gunfire at the Sun Basin Apartments on the 500 block of C Street Northwest at approximately midnight Thursday, Oct. 3. No one was injured, but a single male lives at the targeted apartment and was reportedly cooperating with police.

“A major investigation is underway. Witnesses are being interviewed, evidence in still being gathered and processed,” the release said. Several rounds and shell cases were reportedly recovered both inside and outside the apartment,

Ephrata police asked that anyone who has knowledge of the incident, may have witnessed the shooters or finds any piece of evidence contact them immediately at 754-2491 or 762-1160. Tips may also be submitted anonymously via the confidential tip line at crimetips@ephrata.org.

“This is a shocking incident for our normally quiet community. Every resource of the City, along with other assisting agencies, is being devoted to the apprehension and conviction of the perpetrators,” Crago’s release said.
