Othello — Pilgrim Lutheran Church will be holding their annual Baked Potato Feed on Friday. Donations from the event will go to the Othello Food Bank and Assured Hospice, in Moses Lake.

“We like this time of year at Pilgrim Lutheran Church,” said Rev. Donald Short, pastor of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. “We want to support local sports and the community as well. We’ve sponsored a Baked Potato Feed on homecoming night for many years. We start serving at 5 p.m. so people have plenty of time to eat and then go to the game.”

Pilgrim Lutheran Church has been hosting the potato feed for approximately 10 years. The church took over the event from the Methodist Church when they closed.

Each year, donations are collected for various charities around the area. Last year, the Othello Food Bank and Adams County Pet Rescue were the recipients. This year, the Othello Food Bank is again a recipient, as well as Assured Hospice.

The menu will include baked potatoes with toppings, chili con carne, cookies and drinks. Admission is free.

“Kids and adults are welcome,” Short said. “We will have plenty of baked potatoes, chili and all the trimmings.”

Pilgrim Lutheran Church is located at 640 E. Elm, in Othello, at the corner of Seventh and Elm. The Baked Potato Feed will be held on Friday, Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. For more information, contact Short at 509-488-9952.
