4 arrested in Airport Grocery Mart robbery
MOSES LAKE — Four male suspects who are believed to be involved in a recent robbery at the Airport Grocery Mart have been captured by Moses Lake police.
Officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Airport Grocery Mart on Patton Boulevard on Oct. 27. Two suspects reportedly entered the store and allegedly threatened to kill the clerk with butcher knives, according to Moses Lake police. Two additional suspects reportedly acted as lookouts for the other defendants, they added.
Detectives from the MLPD along with patrol units took three suspects into custody in connection with the burglary on Thursday afternoon. Uriel Sanchez Serrano, 18, from Moses Lake, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were arrested by police without incident. Another 16-year-old boy was arrested by Moses Lake police on Friday afternoon.
The three robbery suspects were part of a group of kids allegedly seen breaking into a vehicle as an officer from Moses Lake drove past, police said. The officer, a detective working the case, recognized one of the suspects from surveillance footage. When caught by the police, the suspects were reportedly wearing several pieces of clothing they were wearing during the alleged robbery.
One 16-year-old, along with the 17-year-old, will be charged with robbery in the first degree. Sanchez Serrano and the other 16-year-old boy will be charged with robbery in the first degree (complicity).
“Detectives are looking at the possibility the robbery on the 27th is connected with another armed robbery at the same store on Oct. 2. If anyone has any information that would be useful to the investigation, please call Detective Sergeant Jones at 509-764-3887,” Moses Lake police stated.
