MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake police responded to two drive-by shootings within an hour and two miles of each other Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, though there were no reported injuries in either event.

The first took place just before midnight Wednesday in the 600 block of South Russell Avenue, where police found several 9mm shell casings and evidence that a nearby apartment building and vehicle had been struck, according to police officials.

An hour later, around 1 a.m. Thursday morning, police responded to a second drive-by on the 4000 block of West Windy Street. Witnesses stated they heard five or six gunshots in rapid succession, according to police logs. Police officials said they located three shell casings from the area, including .40-calibre and 9mm rounds.

Police officials were not certain if the incidents were connected, but asked that anyone with information about the shootings contact 509-764-3887.
