MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Police Department had a busy afternoon Thursday, responding to calls downtown and off Valley Road.

Police responded around 6 p.m. to a report involving a weapon in the 100 block of West Third Avenue, according to MLPD Capt. Mike Williams. Business in the area were reportedly placed on lockdown and two suspects were taken into custody in connection with a reported robbery. The details of the alleged robbery have not been disclosed by police officals.

In the second incident, which took place around 7:25 p.m., police responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Valley Road and Central Avenue. Upon investigation police located a male who had been shot and multiple people were taken into custody, Williams said. A witness, who wished to remain anonymous, reported hearing several gunshots.

There was no reason to believe the two incidents were connected, Williams added.
