Press Release: This is a reminder that Candidate Filing Week begins Monday, May 13th, 2019. Candidates filing in person will file at the Grant County Election Department located on the 2nd floor of the Courthouse, Room 203 in Ephrata, beginning May 13th at 8:00a.m. it will continue through Friday May 17th at 5:00p.m. The attached list states the positions that are open for filing for the Primary to be held on August 6, 2019. A person filing a Declaration of Candidacy for an office shall, at the time of filing, possess the qualifications specified by law for persons who may be elected to the office. The candidate must be properly registered to vote in the district represented by the office at the time of filing. Electronic filing opens Monday, May 13th at 9:00 a.m. and closes Friday, May 17th at 4:00 p.m. The acceptance of candidate filings submitted by mail will be accepted beginning 10 business days before the opening of filing week, which will be April 29th.. The filings by mail are retained for processing until filing opens for all candidates. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. No conditional bid bond will be accepted.
