Alleged MLHS threat determined to be unfounded

| May 6, 2019 10:17 PM

MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake High School student apparently joking with friends Friday prompted an investigation by the Moses Lake Police Department along with additional police at MLHS Monday morning. The investigation determined there was “no intent to carry out any violence,” said MLPD Captain Dave Sands.

“The young man made some horrible decisions,” Sands said. The student and his friends were overheard by another student, who reported it to school authorities, Sands said.

The ensuing police investigation didn’t turn up any evidence the student planned to act on the conversation. It doesn’t appear the student will be charged with a crime, Sands said.
