Newhouse to host Senior Symposium in Othello

OTHELLO — Fourth District Rep. Dan Newhouse, R-Yakima, will be hosting a Senior Symposium at the Othello Senior Center on March 18 from 12-3 p.m.

“The Symposium will feature three panels of experts to answer questions and help participants navigate the available systems and benefits,” according to a press release. “This event is free and open to all seniors and their families in the 4th Congressional District.”

The event will be broken up into three parts. A benefits panel, from noon-12:50 p.m., will look at retirement, health care benefits, Social Security and Medicare and long-term care. From 1-1:45 p.m., a fraud and ID theft panel will discuss how to tax filing and how to protect identity. A veterans panel, from 2-2:45 p.m., will discuss veterans services available in the area, how to get benefits and receive care.
