MATTAWA — The Wahluke School District will be providing children ages 18 and younger with free breakfasts and lunches throughout the summer. The meals are made possible through the Summer Food Service Program, a USDA program that “provides kids and teens in low-income areas free meals when school is out,” according to their website. Children do not have to participate in summer school to receive meals.
Meals will be served Monday through Friday at Mattawa Elementary School, 400 N. Boundary Ave., in Mattawa. Breakfast is from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
