OTHELLO — A man was taken into custody near Othello last week after he unsuccessfully attempted to flee from deputies and was tracked down by K9 Garrett.

About 7:30 p.m. on Friday Adams County deputies responded to the 2100 block of West Cunningham Road, where suspects Pablo Mendoza and Sean Dickey were contacted. Mendoza was taken into custody on an outstanding felony warrant. Dickey, who is a suspect is several crimes, attempted to flee the area on foot. Dickey, who has a history of running from police, refused to comply with deputies and a less lethal FN303 launcher was used against him, but he continued running even after he was hit several times with pepper balls.

Dickey reportedly ran in the direction of a marsh, making it difficult for deputies to follow him.

Deputies contained the area and K9 Garrett and his handler were able to locate Dickey and take him into custody. Dickey was treated for minor injuries and booked into the Adams County Jail.
