Thank you, volunteers
Many compliments were received about the way the Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens looked on this Memorial Day weekend – both with the way the grounds are taken care of through the year and with all the flags that are flying on this special day.
It takes a lot of work to make Memorial Day something where those who come to visit can be assured that we have done our best to honor those who are buried here and around the world who served our nation and those people needing our help.
Most of our volunteers have somebody who has served they wish to honor by helping out and others use it as a way to teach the next generation why we must remember those who served.
Whatever your reason is for coming out to help with the cleanup, setup and take-down of the flags, it is an important reason. We could not do this without the help we have each year from the community members.
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8889 wishes once again to thank you for all of your assistance in making this a special day for those who come to visit and to remember those who have served this nation in war and peace. With your efforts, Memorial Day will always be something our young people will remember and be proud to be part of.
Thank you for being with us.
