Wahluke School Board approves putting levy on ballot
MATTAWA — The Wahluke School Board passed a resolution to put a projects levy on the November ballot during a special board meeting on Tuesday, July 23.
“These funds would provide the district with funds to improve district wide security by replacing and/or upgrading security cameras, upgrade and/or replace clocks, re-key the district with door locks and/or fobs and to make some needed facility improvements including some new roofing, upgrade and/or replace some HVAC systems and improve some flooring needs,” said Wahluke School District Superintendent Robert Eckert.
The levy would cost about $1.9871 per $1,000 of assessed evaluation in 2020 and $1.9482 per $1,000 in 2021. Both years, the levy would give the school district approximately $1,375,000 for repairs.
