MOSES LAKE - Five Moses Lake boys between the ages of 14 and 16 were arrested early Tuesday morning after two reported burglaries and a foot chase. They were allegedly found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle, according to a police report.
Residents of the 1200 block of West Lakeside Drive called police Monday morning after reportedly observing several boys breaking into a neighbor's home, according to a press release. Officers arrived at the location and stopped the vehicle, but all five boys reportedly fled the scene on foot.
With the arrival of backup, law enforcement quickly detained three of the boys. Two others allegedly broke into a second residence in the 800 block of C Street, where they attempted to hide from officers, but were also eventually detained, according to law enforcement.
When all five boys were in custody, officers reportedly confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen from the 5600 block of Crystal Springs Road. The vehicle was searched and items from the morning's first burglary were located inside. All five boys were booked into juvenile detention. One of the 14-year-old boys was out on bail for prowling vehicles during an incident a week prior in which he is alleged to have stolen a firearm.
