Man arrested for pointing gun at motorist in Moses Lake
MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly pointing a gun at a motorist.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Moses Lake Police Department received a call about 8:15 a.m. Sunday morning from a motorist who claimed a blue van was being driven erratically. The caller said the driver of the van, alleged to be Jeffrey L. Ragan, 59, of Moses Lake, pointed a gun at them. Deputies located the van, which was unoccupied and reportedly contained “several pieces of body armor”, near Road 2 and Road L Northeast, according to the sheriff’s office.
Police located a man who matched the description of the driver about 250 yards from the van. The man, Ragan, was initially uncooperative, but was later taken into custody. Ragan was allegedly wearing an empty holster and two ammunition magazines.
“He at first denied having a gun, but ultimately said he had hidden the gun in the weeds. Deputies found the gun and collected it as evidence,” reads a release from the sheriff’s office.
Ragan was booked into the Grant County Jail for brandishing a weapon apparently capable of producing bodily harm, a concealed pistol license violation, and aiming or discharging a firearm.
