MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake man with multiple outstanding warrants, including for failing to register as a sex offender, was arrested Thursday after a traffic stop. He was also reportedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on Heriberto Rojas, 56, of Moses Lake, after reportedly noticing Rojas’ view from inside the vehicle he was driving was obstructed. Rojas was allegedly driving while his license was suspended and had an active felony warrant for failing to register as a sex offender, as well as a misdemeanor warrant fourth-degree assault.
Officers searched Rojas as he was arrested on his warrants and reportedly discovered a bag of meth in his possession. Rojas was booked into the Grant County Jail on charges of first-degree driving while license suspended, possession of a controlled substance, and for his outstanding warrants.
As Rojas has not been placed onto a sex offender registry, it was not immediately clear what the underlying offense was that created the requirement.
