MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake man was arrested Thursday after allegedly breaking into a frozen food distribution center, stealing products, and then eluding police on his motorcycle, according to police officials.

Jarod Taylor, 36, of Moses Lake, is facing charges of second-degree vehicle prowling, third-degree theft, second-degree burglary and felony eluding in connection with the incident.

Police responded to the 3300 block of Road L Northeast for a report that Taylor had broken into the Schwans Food Company distribution center. Officers discovered that the chain link fence to the facility had been cut and that frozen food items sold by the business had been scattered.

As officers were identifying the subject, who was caught on camera during the incident, Taylor drove by wearing clothing and driving a motorcycle that matched the suspect’s description, and initiated a pursuit. Taylor reportedly did not immediately stop, and led officers on a chase.

Taylor reached the area of Road O, attempted to slow down to make a turn, but overshot the turn and decided to stop and allow himself to be detained. Taylor was booked into the Grant County Jail without further incident, according to police.
