Moses Lake student arrested for distributing pills on campus
MOSES LAKE — A 15-year-old Moses Lake High School student was arrested Tuesday for allegedly distributing prescription opioids to classmates on campus, according to police reports.
The Moses Lake Police Department had received a tip that the student was bringing hydrocodone to campus and discovered Tuesday that he had given two classmates half a pill each, Capt. Mike Williams said Wednesday. The painkillers had been legally prescribed for the student, and there is no evidence that the student was selling the pills, Williams added.
The student was administratively booked on distribution charges and released to a parent, according to the report. Representatives of the Moses Lake School District were not immediately available for comment on standard disciplinary procedures.
