Man blames meth on his 13-year-old daughter

MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake man blamed his 13-year-old daughter for the meth that law enforcement found on him Sunday evening.

Daniel B. Clark, 53, was contacted around 5 p.m. Sunday when officers with the Moses Lake Police Department recognized that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The responding officer conducted a routine search on Clark's person and discovered an unidentified toy.

Clark indicated to the officer that his daughter had given him the toy to “help him calm down,” according to police reports. The officer on the scene opened a pouch on the toy and discovered a plastic baggie with a substance that field-tested positive as meth.

Law enforcement asked Clark if he knew what the substance was and whom it belonged to. Clark said he did not know but repeated that it had been given to him by his daughter, a police official said.

Law enforcement confirmed Monday that Clark's daughter was not being charged in connection with the confiscated methamphetamine. Clark was booked for possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
