2 struck by car in Mattawa

MATTAWA — Police in Mattawa are investigating a collision that involved a vehicle striking two people as they were crossing Government Road.

About 7:30 a.m. on Friday two young females were crossing Government Road when they were struck by a vehicle in the Government Road/Broadway Avenue intersection. The Mattawa Police Department says the victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police believe there are people who may have seen the crash and are asking them to contact the Mattawa Police Department at 509-932-4112. Tipsters can remain anonymous.

Police do not believe alcohol played a role in the collision.
