ROYAL CITY — The Royal girls have been on the receiving end of Friday’s beatdown, so to go out and blast River View 57 - 25 behind Chenoa Louie’s 24 points and 17 rebounds just felt good.

Louie was virtually unstoppable both as a scorer and a rebounder. The 5-foot-11 sophomore scored 10 of her 24 points in the second quarter where she dominated the offensive glass with nine offensive rebounds, giving the Knights (7-4, 1-2 SCAC East) a steady flow of second-chance points.

“I really like the way we worked tonight. We all play together and I trust my team,” Louie said. “I thought I boxed out well tonight and it gave me a chance to pick up the rebounds, especially offensive rebounds.

“But mostly it’s playing together. I really feel like my teammates have my back.”

The Knights have outscored their opponents 229-96 during the four-game winning streak. Even though Louie was unstoppable, they did get scoring production from Emma Wilhelm (5), Josie Phillips (6).

“I think we’re playing pretty well right now. It hasn’t been all that long when we were getting beat like this,” Knights coach Bud Wilhelm said. “Chenoa had a nice game and I thought we ran the floor well.”

Selah 39, Othello 32

At Othello, Macy Hampton had a game-high 17 points and the Othello girls led first-place Selah through the first eight minutes of their CWAC game.

The Huskies (3-10, 3-8 CWAC) got eight points from Ashley Perez, but struggled in the second and third quarters where they scored just 11 combined points. Both team went into an offensive funk on the third period where the Huskies outscored the Vikings (10-3, 10-1) 7-4.

Selah outscored Othello 14-10 down the stretch to escape the upset by the scrappy Huskies team, which saw its winning streak end at three.
