Ida Marie Laughlin

Ida Marie Laughlin, 75, of Othello, Washington went to be with her Father in Heaven on Nov. 26, 2019 in Othello, Washington.

A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 14, 2019 at the Othello Church of the Nazarene.

Ida “Marie” was born in Chico, California to Donley Small and Loah Againa on April 4, 1944.  She went to school in Chico until ninth grade, then moved to Rigby, Idaho in 1959. She married Richard Johnson on Nov. 23, 1960, in Rigby, Idaho. Marie moved to Othello, Washington in 1969 with her husband and their four children. She worked at Carnation/Nestle Foods as a lab technician. In 1985, Marie and Richard divorced, and she was remarried to Laverne Laughlin in June of 1986, upon which she moved to Twin Falls, Idaho. Marie’s husband Laverne passed away in 2006 and the next year, in 2007, Marie moved back to Othello to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She loved God, crocheting, family, friends and her small farm in Idaho. 

 Marie is preceded in death by her mother Loah Againa, her father Donly Small, the father of her children Richard Johnson, and her recent husband Laverne Laughlin.

Marie is survived by her son Kenneth Johnson and his wife Heidi, daughter Barbara Simmons and her husband Joe, son Duane Johnson and his wife Andrea and son Don Johnson and his wife Riikka. In addition to her children, Marie is survived by her brothers Don Ostrander and Roger Ostrander and her sister Beverly Smith. Marie has 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. 

The family of Marie wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Assured Hospice and The Coventry House for the great care they provided Marie in her last days.
