| December 3, 2019 12:27 PM

MOSES LAKE — Mikayla Cooper’s prep season may have ended, but there’s still running to be done.

The Moses Lake senior, who qualified for the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association State cross country meet, will also have an opportunity to race at the Junior Olympic National Championships in Madison, Wisconsin.

Cooper was able to reach that championship meet after finishing fourth in her age group at the Regional USA Track and Field Cross Country Junior Olympic Championships.

As of press time, $1,100 had been raised of the $1,500 goal to fund travel and participatory expenses. The competition is December 14.

“I promise to give my maximum effort in this competition and I will proudly and respectfully represent Moses Lake High School and community, as well as all of Washington, on the national state,” Cooper said in a post.
