Myrtle A. Phillips
Myrtle A. Phillips, 83, lost her long battle with cancer on Oct. 30. She was born in Spokane, Washington in 1936, where she lived until she met and married the love of her life, her husband Jerry. They spent their early years moving around with the military. They moved back and forth between Jackson, Mississippi and Spokane, Washington until they finally settled in Moses Lake. She’s lived for 48 years in Moses Lake in her dream home.
She was preceded in death by her mother Maxine Welch, father George Knutsonhaydahl, husband Jerry Phillips, son David Phillips, grandson Steven Mennemyer and son-in-law Gary Williams.
She is survived by her three daughters Shirley Kay Wagner and Barry DeShazo of Ephrata, Ramona Lynn Phillips of Granite City and Pamela Jill Colee and Doug Dickson of Othello; six grandchildren Angela and David Hedwall, Melanie and Ammon Bruce, Melissa and Josh Schindler, Krystal Wagner, Ryan and Amy Colee and Sarah and Zach White and 13.75 great-grandchildren.
We all inherited her love of travel, love of animals, and zest for celebrating birthdays and holidays. She always made them fun growing up.
She didn’t like black; yellow was her favorite color so we are asking people to wear bright colorful clothes to the celebration of her life. Celebration of her life will be taking place Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church on A Street.
In lieu of flowers we are asking donations be made to Grant County Animal Outreach, via Broadway Animal Hospital on their account.
