Adams County announces election filing dates

RITZVILLE — If you live in Adams County, and have a hankering to run for office this fall, the time to file to run is fast approaching, according to the Adams County Auditor.

The Adams County Auditor’s Office will be accepting filings for local offices beginning Monday, May 13, through Friday, May 17 at 210 W. Broadway Ave. in Ritzville.

“The Adams County Auditor’s Office will accept in-person filings until 4:30 p.m. on Friday,” said a press release from the county auditor.

Candidates can also file online at the Adams County website www.co.adams.we.us beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 13 through 4 p.m. Friday, May 17. To access online filing select “Elections” on the menu at the right side of the Adams County website.

Offices up for election this fall include two Othello Port Commission seats; school board positions in Othello, Washtucna, Ritzville, Benge and Lind; mayor and city council positions in Othello, Lind, Hatton, Ritzville and Washtucna; fire and cemetery district commissioners across the county; park and recreation commissioners in Othello, Lind, Ritzville and Washtucna; and two water commissioners.
