| April 17, 2019 3:00 AM

April 26, 1934 – April 6, 2019

Ruth Marie Campbell, a longtime resident of the Royal Slope, Washington passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 6, 2019. She was born in Eros, Arkansas on April 26, 1934 to Jess and Ella Campbell.

Ruth loved spending time with her family and her animals. Those who knew Ruth knew that no one was a stranger and she was always happy to chat with a new face; grocery store lines were the best for this. Ruth never missed an event that involved her two nieces Kim and Kelly. Whether it was a basketball game, track meet or the county fair, you could bet that Ruth was there cheering them on. Ruth was an active 4-H leader for many, many years. Ruth loved what 4-H stands for and the values that were instilled in all the kids involved. Ruth was known as “Aunt Ruth” by many of the 4-H kids that were involved in her club, who always greeted her with a hug. Everyone that knew Ruth knew how generous she was with her time and resources for all of her friends, family and those in need. She was a true animal lover and cared like no other for all her pets, which included goats, sheep, dogs and cats.

Ruth is survived by her sister Kathy Whitney of Othello; her nieces Kim (Troy) Dyal of Pasco and Kelly (Brian) Carlson of Othello and her great-nephews Dusty, Logan and Riley, all of whom brought great joy to her years. She also would want us to mention her fur babies that she left behind: Gracie, Dolly, Reba and Penny.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Jess and Ella Campbell.

In keeping with Ruth’s spirit of giving, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth’s name be made to the Adams County Pet Rescue, Othello, Washington. She will be greatly missed and are blessed with the time that we were able to share with her. The family will be having a private graveside service at a future date.
