Prep roundup: Moses Lake slowpitch improves to 4-0
MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake is hardly a slowpitch veteran in its second year, however, the Chiefs have taken advantage of first-year Mid Columbia Conference programs.
Moses Lake dispatched Walla Wala 17-2 in three innings and 14-4 in five innings for a doubleheader sweep. The Chiefs scored six runs in each of the first two innings of Game 1 to erase a brief 2-0 deficit.
Columbia Basin Big Nine play begins Thursday when Moses Lake hosts Davis in a doubleheader, starting at 4 p.m.
Girls soccer
Warden 3, College Place 0
COLLEGE PLACE — It took almost the entire game but Warden found a way to break through and beat College Place 3-0.
Scoreless after 70 minutes, Bailey Whitney scored the first of her two goals on a direct kick in the 71st. Whitney followed with another direct kick into the net two minutes later.
Aaliyah Escamilla added an insurance goal in the 77th.
Moses Lake 6, Sunnyside 0
SUNNYSIDE — Natalie Bunch scored twice and Moses Lake beat Sunnyside 6-0.
Olivia Waites, Denali Knowles, Emily Mendoza and Madelyn Balsz added one goal apiece.

Lacey Miller posted 18 assists and 21 digs to lead the Broncos offensively and defensively. Eliza Galbreath added 10 kills for the Broncos.

MATTAWA — Wahluke was swept by visiting Connell 25-16, 25-16, 25-17.
