Basin roundup: Big Bend volleyball falls in four to Treasure Valley

MOSES LAKE — Big Bend was unable to start a win streak and lost to Treasure Valley in four sets 25-18, 25-21, 24-26, 25-17.

Big Bend rallied from a 21-19 deficit in the third set and eventually won on a kill by Sadie Nielsen.

Big Bend hosts North Idaho Sept. 26 at 6 p.m.

Prep volleyball

Ellensburg 3, Othello 0

OTHELLO — Othello could not recover from a tentative first set and was swept by Ellensburg 25-13, 25-23, 25-22.

It was the first match of league play for both teams.

Alyssa Hawley paced Othello with seven kills. Clarissa Martinez had five aces and Macy Hampton added seven assists.

Alyssa Freeman chipped in four kills.

Next up for Othello is a key CWAC match against Ephrata. The match is in Ephrata, 7 p.m., on Sept. 25.

Liberty 3, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 0

RITZVILLE — Lind-Ritzville/Sprague was swept by visiting Liberty 25-18, 25-17, 25-16.

Eliza Galbreath had 12 kills and Lacey Miller had 19 assists to lead the Broncos.
