MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake entered Friday’s game against Post Falls in search of an offensive rhythm.

It didn’t take much time to find.

A 30-yard touchdown pass from Dominic Signorelli to Chayton Fisk capped a 91-yard scoring drive on Moses Lake’s first possession. The Chiefs (1-2) rode that start to a 27-21 victory over the visiting Trojans.

“It’s nice to score on opening drives,” head coach Todd Griffith said. “It makes your offense get a little confidence in them. The first drive was our best, I thought. We kept everything ahead of the chains the whole time and just plugged down the field, making big plays when we needed to.”

The young Moses Lake defense withstood three rushing touchdowns by Post Falls’ Eli Gondo, keeping the Trojans scoreless for most of the second half.

Moses Lake and Post Falls traded blows in the first half. Moses Garza and Gondo exchanged second-quarter touchdowns, tying the game at 14-14.

Moses Lake pulled ahead for good when Signorelli found Dalenh Anderson for an 18-yard touchdown on fourth-and-12.

Garza added another touchdown scamper on the first drive of the second half.
