SOAP LAKE - Soap Lake is undergoing a major project to rehab the city’s sewer system and city officials want residents to know about some adverse side effects they may experience in their homes as a result of the work being done.

The city is currently in the starting stages of doing infrastructure rehabilitation to the city’s sewer system. As a result, Iron Horse Vac, LLC. is working in the city to clean sewer lines with equipment that uses pressurized water. The work is expected to be done by the end of October and city officials want the public to be aware of a few things with regard to the work that is being done. The city says some residences could experience sewer gas smells, which can be rectified by running water in all drains, sinks and showers in order to refill p-traps. In addition, some residents could find puddles of water in the bathroom areas of their homes.

Soap Lake residents who experience serious issues are encouraged to contact Chuck Dompier at 509-929-2453.
