| September 6, 2018 4:16 PM

MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake firefighters were able to quickly respond and knock down a small fire at an apartment Thursday morning.

Moses Lake Fire Department Assistant Chief Pete Kunjara said the fire started as a result of food catching fire in an apartment at a small complex in the 1000 block of Division Street. The fire was quickly knocked down and the flames did not get into the walls of the structure and reach other apartments.

There was no one home at the time of the blaze and there was no reported injuries. One cat was rescued from the apartment and two others were found after the flames were extinguished.
