PASCO — A Moses Lake man was arrested for DUI following a collision that left three people, including one child, injured near Pasco over the weekend.

About 2:45 p.m. on Sunday Martin Santoyo Medina, 19, of Moses Lake, was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus north on state Route 395, about 22 miles north of Pasco, when he reportedly struck a 2006 Subaru Forester driven by Florian Preisig, 50, of Cheney, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Preisig, a child, and 51-year-old Sara Preisig, of Cheney, were injured and transported to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco for treatment. Santoyo Medina, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was not injured and his vehicle was impounded. The Subaru Forester was totaled in the collision and impounded.

The patrol reports alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the crash. Santoyo Medina was arrested and booked into the Franklin County Jail for DUI. He was released from the jail on Monday after posting bail.
