| October 31, 2018 3:00 AM

August 23, 1913 – October 25, 2018

Nea Luella Seed fell asleep in her Heavenly Father’s arms on Oct. 25, 2018. She was 105 years old.

Nea was born in Bemidji, Minn. on Aug. 23, 1913 to James and Dollie Morris. She attended Bemidji School from first to eighth grade. It was a one-room schoolhouse. To get to school Nea had to go two miles. She walked in warm weather but had to use skis in the winter because the snow was so deep.

Nea came to Washington in the early 1930s and lived in Naches, Wash. She was digging clams in Copalis Beach, Wash. when she saw Lawrence Seed playing baseball with his brothers. They married on Feb. 17, 1934 and remained happily married for 69 years. Their daughter Rayda was born later that year on Dec. 22.

Nea packed apples and picked cherries and hops in the Naches Valley. In 1968 they moved to Othello where Nea worked in the Akins bakery for several years. She attended the Assembly of God church. Nea loved working in the yard and garden. She also loved to crochet, making afghans for all of her family. You never saw Nea without a camera taking pictures of everyone. Without her lots of family memories would have been lost.

Nea was a loving mom, grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma. She was known as G.G. to them. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Lawrence and her brother Henry. Nea is survived by her daughter Rayda Akins, her sister Marylee, three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She is loved and will be greatly missed by all.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018 at Stevens Funeral Chapel, 511 S 7th Ave, Othello, Wash. Interment will be at Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens.
