| October 25, 2018 3:00 AM

October 25, 1952 – October 15, 2018

Fred was born in Wenatchee, Wash. to Edwin Burkhart and Leona (Davis) Burkhart on Oct. 25, 1952. He died in Wenatchee, Wash. at Central Washington Hospital on Oct. 15, 2018.

He always enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and taking long trips in his canoe. He made it a point to take all the nieces and nephews on a camping and canoe trip at least once in their life time. To the kids he was known as “UNKIE.” He loved to spoil the nieces and nephews and was always there to celebrate holidays, birthdays, graduations, weddings, and any special occasion.

He also was a great animal lover. He had a faithful companion, Ginger, for many years.

He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Towers.

Fred spent many years working as a chef, most recently at Sporty’s, in Moses Lake. He was very much respected by those he knew and worked with.

He always helped those who were in need of help, and putting others before himself.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, several aunts and uncles, his cousin Laura Davis and great-niece Gracie Burkhart.

He is survived by his brothers David Burkhart and Gary (Charlene) Burkhart; sister Deby (Ron) Ward; nieces Teresa (Jamison) Vanderhoof, Rachel (Michael) Umland, Candace (Will Rockwell) Burkhart, Jana Burkhart and Nichole Welch; nephews Jeremi (Dana) Johansen, Dean (Sarah) Ward and Christopher Burkhart; several great-nieces and -nephews, cousins and extended family.

Fred will be greatly missed by his family and those who loved him. There are no services planned at this time.
