Hammond is right for 13th District

We are writing this letter in support of Sylvia Hammond, who is running for the 13th Legislative District Representative Position No. 2. Not only is she is an outstanding candidate; she is also the only viable choice on the ballot. Her opponent stated that he would resign from the position, even if he does win. His party has put out names of five possible replacements, but no one has had the chance to find out anything about them or even know who would be chosen. That does not seem like the right way to choose a representative. As citizens, we deserve the right to know whom we are voting for and how they plan to be our voice.

That being said, all of that really doesn’t matter because Sylvia Hammond is an outstanding candidate to represent the entire 13th District. She is a moderate Democrat that really listens to the people of our district. Having been a farmer, she will stand up for our agricultural needs, even if she may not agree with other people in her party. As a former substitute teacher, Sylvia knows the challenges facing education and will work to ensure that learning opportunities are supported and available at all levels, leading to success in all vocations.

We can honestly tell you that we know Sylvia Hammond to be a patriot with integrity, who is also passionate about our community. We believe she will work tirelessly to be our voice in Olympia. She has demonstrated her dedication by enthusiastically visiting every corner of the 13th to introduce herself and listen to everyone’s concerns. We are lucky to have such a qualified candidate on the ballot. She is the right choice for the 13th. We strongly urge you to vote for Sylvia on Nov. 6.
