Foster would make good county commissioner

| October 18, 2018 3:00 AM

I have known Jeff Foster for over 30 years, as a banker, real estate broker and most recently as a director on the Moses Lake Irrigation and Rehabilitation District Board of Directors. We have served together for about five years.

Jeff has been BOD Chairman since 2015, and has brought the MLIRD through some unprecedented challenges; the failure of the North Dam on Moses Lake and its subsequent replacement, the County

Treasurer's refusal to include the MLIRD Assessment Notice with the county property tax statements earlier this year, hiring a new manager several years ago, involvement in several lawsuits and bringing financial stability to the MLIRD. Jeff's leadership dealing with the North Dam replacement demonstrated his ability and dedication to the District and ratepayers. There is no question that the District saved a significant amount of ratepayer dollars. Jeff managed the construction project from start to finish for MLIRD.

I support Jeff Foster in his run for election to the Grant County Commission. I believe that he can serve effectively as a commissioner and will serve the best interests of the people of Grant County.

Grant County has been my home for 43 years. Our county commission should be comprised of people interested in maintaining the economic health of the people of Grant County. I believe that fresh minds serve best. Jeff Foster has a fresh mind, is committed to serving us and has the skills necessary.
