Vote Hammond for a breath of fresh air

This is my first-ever letter to the editor, but I feel so strongly about electing Sylvia Hammond to the 13th that I am jumping into the fray. We are living in a toxic political climate where voters are called names, harassed and mocked. We have leaders who believe they are above the law. We are routinely lied to and our voices are not heard. None of this is OK with me and changes need to be made.

Sylvia Hammond is a breath of fresh air and she has the skill set to do the job and do it well. She’s calm, respectful and wants to work across the aisle. She understands that we can protect the Second Amendment and protect children as well. Mrs. Hammond knows and supports agriculture and knows and supports education. As a teacher, a farmer and a parent, she understands who we are and what is important to us.

It’s time for all of us to quit voting Republican or Democratic and to vote for the candidate who believes in family, integrity and truthfulness and whose moral compass aligns with decency. That candidate is Sylvia Hammond.
