Terry Brewer – absentee PUD commissioner
1 have recently been told by other PUD commissioners that we have a commissioner running for re-election who spends four to five months in Florida. During this time he does video conference during the meetings but l feel that in this position he should be a full-time resident of Grant County. We should be able to meet in person with him to discuss power rates or other issues that affect the PUD.
We have a person running for that position who is fully qualified and is a full-time resident of Grant County, Judy Wilson. She and her husband own and operate a cattle ranch north of Moses Lake. She managed stores in Spokane for J.I. Case Company and in 1996 she was appointed manager of Central Machinery Sales, the local Case IH dealership in Moses Lake. Under her management the business grew to four locations in Central Washington and Oregon.
Her grandfather was the manager of Okanogan Irrigation District and her father was the purchasing agent for the Okanogan County PUD so she was exposed to the benefits that U.S. Bureau of Reclamation water and public water power brought to the region at an early age.
She is concerned about the direction that the directors and management of the PUD has taken. Our Public Utility District is currently $1.3 billion in debt. This is not acceptable to me and shouldn’t be to you as a rate payer.
Please join me in casting your vote for Grant County resident Judy Wilson.
