Marilyn Alda Pierpoint Grubb Ewan Hargrove

Marilyn Alda Pierpoint Grubb Ewan Hargrove was born Jan. 26, 1935 in Coulee City, Wash. Marilyn passed away peacefully at the age of 83 surrounded by her loving family.

She was the fifth child of 13, born to Frank and Viola Pierpoint. Marilyn married Arthur J. Grubb in 1952 and had seven children: Richard (Spike), Larry, Arthur Jr. (Babe), Joe, Russ, Mike and Lynette.

Also known as “Grandma Chicken,” she spent her lifetime being an adoring mother and grandmother. She had 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. They were her world.

Marilyn worked several jobs in her lifetime from Carnation in Moses Lake for many years to the retail shop at 49 Degrees North. She was a cook and hotel clerk in Soldotna, Alaska before retiring in 1998, when she moved back home to Chewelah, Wash. She enjoyed working on genealogy, and she especially loved her chickens.

She is survived by her remaining children and family: Richard (Spike) Grubb, Larry and Lynn Grubb, Joe and Denise Grubb, Mike and Lisa Grubb and Lynette and Joey Coleman.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Viola Pierpoint; sons Arthur Jr. (Babe) and Russell Grubb; five sisters Donna Dorlavque, Lois Guinn, Betty Jensen, Thelma Keizer and Dixie Moe; first husband Arthur J. Grubb; second husband Joe Ewan and last husband Jack W. Hargrove.

Services will be held on Oct. 20, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Moses Lake Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the home of Mike and Lisa Grubb, 2852 Wild Goose Rd., Moses Lake, Wash.
