Prep roundup: Moses Lake slowpitch clinches CBBN

MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake asserted itself as the best slowpitch softball team in the Columbia Basin Big Nine with two wins over West Valley 14-4, 18-3.

The sweep improved Moses Lake to an unblemished 6-0 in the CBBN, clinching home-field advantage for its district tournament on Oct. 23.

The Rams held a brief 2-0 lead before the Chiefs answered with a five-run first inning in Game 1. Up 12-4, Harley Raymond led the sixth inning off with a double to right-center field. Madi Olson ended the game two batters later when she crushed a ball over the center field fence.

The Chiefs finish their regular season with doubleheaders against Mid Columbia Conference teams Chiawana and Pasco.

Girls swimming

Eisenhower 100, Moses Lake 85-Moses Lake 119, Davis 67

MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake girls swim and dive split a pair of dual meets.

The Chiefs were unable to pick up enough wins to beat Eisenhower, losing 100-85. The Chiefs settled for a comfortable win against Davis 119-67.

Bethany Bateman scored 174.10 to win diving.

Girls soccer

Warden 7, Naches Valley 1

WARDEN — Bailey Whitney had four goals and two assists to lead Warden past Naches Valley 7-1.

Ashlyn Yamane scored twice and Arely Rangel added one goal.

WARDEN — Warden earned its first league win against River View 19-25, 25-9, 25-20, 22-25, 15-8.

Natalie Cole led the Cougars with 10 kills. Kayla Golladay and Kiana Rios added eight kills each.

Jaryn Madsen totaled eight digs, five kills and four aces.
