May 31, 1932 – September 25, 2018

Lu Ida June Weber, 86, passed away on Sept. 25, 2018 with her four children at her side.

June was born May 31, 1932, at the Alling home in Almira, Wash. to Benjamin and Edna Alling. June was the youngest of nine children, all of whom have preceded her in death. They spent the school year in Almira and summers on their cattle ranch north of Grand Coulee. Life on the ranch was wonderful with lots of horse riding, swimming in small muddy lakes, huge garden and canning duties, and of course lots of shenanigans with a large family. June loved sharing her memories of those early years.

On Feb. 12, 1950, June married Reiny Weber at the Alling home in Almira, Wash. They began their married life in Marlin, where she continued to live for the next 53 years. They were able to celebrate their 50th anniversary with their family before Reiny passed away in June of 2002.

June was an excellent cook, and the door was always open to drop-in guests. Her baking even won her first place in a State Grange Bake-Off for her Sour Cream Cinnamon Twists. June, never one to sit still for long, spent most of her evenings crocheting or working on quilts. She was very generous with her handiwork, and it seems all her family and many friends have beautiful reminders that will be treasured for years.

In 1971 June was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She truly loved what she learned from the Bible and shared what she learned with everyone she could.

Reiny and June loved being with their family, and many of their trips were visits with them, or excursions with family to the beautiful sights of the Pacific Northwest.

June is survived by her four children: Luanne, widow of Rob Lehman and their daughter Emily of Beaverton, Ore.; Carla and her husband Keith Sams of Springdale, Wash., Carla’s son Charles and his wife Katie and children Melanie and Zoey and Carla’s second son Travis Stephens and his daughter Serenity along with Keith’s children Ben (deceased) and his daughter Autumn, Jessica and children Kaeden and Jaela, and Jacob and his sons Gabriel, Wyatt and Ryatt; Ernie and wife Debbie and their children Kelsi and Cade of Moses Lake and Shelley and her husband Mark Bergman and their sons Tanner and Tyler of Spokane.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1610 W. Lee St., Moses Lake, Wash. A reception will follow.
