Rodney Harwood/For the Sun Tribune - Othello outside hitter Clarissa Martinez (17) pounds a ball down the line against an Ephrata defender during CWAC action in The Jungle.

SELAH — Othello dropped a 3-0 to Selah on Thursday to fall to 4-4 overall and 0-3 in the Central Washington Athletic Conference after starting the season 4-1.

It’s been a tough stretch and the Huskies hoped to rebound from Tuesday’s match in Ephrata, but didn’t find the answers in Selah two days later.

The Huskies have lost their last three matches after beating Moses Lake in a 3-2 slugfest. The Huskies have to get it fixed and fast coach Steve Parris said.

“It was terrible tonight, this is the worst we’ve played all year,” he said. “That’s not who we are and it’s concerning. We got some stuff to work out here. We’ve played good teams and we’ve played much better than that. We’ll go back and take a look and learn from our mistakes.”

In the Ephrata match, the Huskies had a chance to extend the match in the third set when they closed to 19-18, but that was as close as they would get, playing in a tough gym to win in when the momentum swings to the home team.
