Mike Allan Hardy

Mike Allan Hardy passed away from natural causes on Sept. 22, 2018 in Ephrata, Wash. Mike was born at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Wash March 17, 1959 to Everett G. Hardy and Kiyoko Moshi Hardy of Japan.

Mike graduated from Moses Lake in 1977 and then attended a painting school in Portland, Ore. where he learned to paint and restore old cars and trucks. Mike took pride in restoring his own cars and took them to many different cars shows where he would bring home trophies for his work. He also was very helpful and would provide assistance to other individuals at the car shows.

The Columbia Basin was home to Mike for 58 years. During those years Mike worked for Napa Auto for 33 years and was called “Napa Mike.” He also opened a sandwich shop named “Dagwood’s for several years. Mike was well liked in the community and would help anyone who needed assistance. He and his friends enjoyed going to the “Den” to watch old reruns of “Bonanza” and “Gunsmoke.”

After his heart attack in 2012, Mike was baptized and then attended Bible study three times a week. His friends at the “Den” called him “Preacher Mike” when he shared his Christian beliefs.

Mike is survived by his wife Mary Lou, whom he married on May 27, 1987. The couple lived in Moses Lake, Quincy and Ephrata.
