Power out for four hours Sunday

| November 20, 2018 2:00 AM

MOSES LAKE — A fault of still-unknown origins shut down four Grant County PUD substations near Moses Lake late Sunday morning. The outages lasted up to four hours for some customers.

The outage was reported at about 11:29 a.m., said Ryan Holterhoff, public relations specialist for the Grant County PUD. It affected 8,494 customers, mostly in the northern sections of Moses Lake, he said.

The unknown fault in the line knocked out power to the Moses Lake substation, Cascade Valley and the Paxton and Dover substations. “The Moses Lake substation had some damage that crews were able to repair,” Holterhoff wrote.

All customers had power restored by 3:23 p.m., he said. “However, not everyone was without power that whole time.”
