| November 20, 2018 2:00 AM

February 28, 1944 - November 8, 2018

Herb was born and raised on a family-owned farm in Missouri and lived and worked there until he went into the Army and served two years in Sawbuck, Germany.

After he got out he moved to Oregon where he married Kathy Ridgeway.

Herb worked for the Oregon highway department for several years. He then moved to Moses Lake with his family.

Herb then went to work for the Port of Moses Lake for 24 years and then retired in 2008.

Herb was a great mechanic. He could fix anything on a car or truck, not to mention being a great handyman.

Herb loved to go fishing and hunting whenever he could. He loved the outdoors and the water, wildlife and camping with his sons.

Herb was a natural at playing darts; he was so good. He also liked playing pool.

Herb had a keen ear for music and boy, oh boy could he dance up a storm. Herb had so much rhythm. It was so much fun to dance with Herb and to watch him dance.

Herb then met Kathleen Pollock and the VFW and began a life of 18 years together.

Herb and Kathleen had a fun life together. Lots of laughter and lots of dancing and boating and music, not to mention the love we both had for our little dogs Buddie and JoJo.

Herb was so, so proud of his three sons Chuck, Mike and Jodi. He had one daughter Sherry and loved them all. Herb loved all his kids beyond and without a doubt.

Herb was so glad to be in their life and have them in his.

Herb is survived by his girlfriend and companion Kathleen Pollock, his sister Lola Miller (Jim), his two sons Chuck and Mike Buchaman, his daughter Sherry Weisser and many grandkids.

Herb is preceded in death by his son Jodi Wood, his brothers James and Johnney, and his sister Mary.

Herb loved his homes away from home, the Eagles and the American Legion, and had great times at both.

There will be a celebration of life after the first of the year.
