August 10, 1926 – October 28, 2018

Elisa G Benavidez, a resident of Othello passed away peacefully in her home on Oct. 28, 2018. She was 92.

She was born in Mission, Texas in 1926 and has been a residence of Othello since 1963. She was married to Melquiadez “Kayo” Benavidez in 1946.

Elisa worked at Woolworth’s cafeteria in McAllen, Texas. They later migrated to various states and finally settled in Othello in 1963, She was employed at Chef Reddy and later became owner of Benavidez Cafe, 32 E. Main St. Othello. She was a hard worker and a dedicated wife and mother. She retired in 2014.

She is survived by her children Minerva Muratore, Estella Germain, Marina Benavidez, Manuel Benavidez and Grace Benavidez. She is also survived by her brother Jessie Gonzalez who resides in Othello and her sister Irma Gonzalez who resides in McAllen, Texas. She was preceded in death by her son Ruben Benavidez, her husband Kayo Benavidez and her son Ramiro Benavidez and Sylvia Benavidez. 

There will be a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Nov. 6 at Stevens Funeral Chapel in Othello, Wash. She will be laid to rest at Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens in Othello.
